BIO

Laura is a painter living in Auckland, New Zealand.  She studied at Auckland University, graduated with a first-class MA in Sociology in 2005. Her first exhibition was in 2013 with a solo show at The Kreisler Gallery, Brunswick, Melbourne.  Over the course of the past seven years Laura has shown throughout New Zealand and has now had eight solo and numerous group shows. Her works have been acquired by the Wallace Arts Trust as well as several notable New Zealand and overseas private collections. In 2018 Laura attended her first artist residency at ChaNorth in the Hudson Valley and in 2019 has had two solo shows, been a finalist in three prestigious New Zealand art awards, had paintings selected for the Wassaic Project’s Summer Exhibition and the Indoor Voices group exhibition at The Yard curated by Kirstin Lamb. Most recently Laura was chosen to be part of the ChaNorth’s October 2019 Brooklyn Bridge Alumni Group Show, been featured in the 2019 Summer Issue of Art New Zealand Magazine and successfully applied to attend the 2020 Golden Foundation Artist Residency program in Upstate New York.
